WHAT IS The Dublin Literary Pub Crawl?
It’s a walking tour of Dublin’s historic pubs in the company of two actors who introduce the writers and perform scenes from their works: The Pub, the Poet, the Pint! Review
HOW LONG IS IT?
Approximately 2 1/4 hours. Private tours can be shorter and start at a time suitable to the group.

WHAT WRITERS ARE FEATURED?
A selection from Joyce, Beckett, Behan, Mary Lavin, Oscar Wilde, Eavan Boland, Paula Meehan, Seamus Heaney, Michael Longley.
DO I NEED TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT IRISH WRITERS?
Not a thing! We explain it to you by quoting entertaining pieces from the works of Dublin’s scribes. They do the talking on this tour. We also give you some background to the writers we feature – so no jumping in at the deep end. We tell you about the great pubs in the city, how the pub culture got started and how important it was for the trade of writing.
IS THERE FOOD ALONG THE WAY?
Food is available at the Duke pub before we start and at the second pub – but you won’t have time to eat a full meal during the tour. We only spend 20 minutes in each pub. Get to the Duke at 6.30pm and order food in time for the start which is 7.30pm. T-01 6799553
WHAT PUBS DO YOU GO TO?
We visit four pubs each night. We always include a stop in Trinity College to talk about Oscar Wilde and some of the writers from the 1960s to the present day.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE TAKE THE TOUR?
Anyone with an open mind and a thinking cap! All sorts, ages, nationalities and families (not suitable for very young children). Women tell us that they find it safe to join the tour when travelling alone.
WHERE DOES THE TOUR END?
We normally end at Davy Byrne’s – close to the starting point on Duke street.
HOW DO WE GET BACK TO THE HOTEL? There’s a taxi rank just down the street from where we end the tour (about 9.50pm). Bus, DART and tram stations are all nearby.
